An amazing experience to reconnect with nature, but with the comfort of having electricity and running water. We picked the glamp and it was gorgeous. The hot tub was amazing. We got to grill and made s’more over the campfire. The view was amazing and the stars were so bright my phone camera picked it up.
Met one of the owners and he was very kind and built all the cabins himself which is incredibly impressive. The dogs there were also very friendly and many reviews have mentioned Lola specifically. Lola guided us the entire trail walk and it was so much fun.
10/10 will be back

Had an amazing two night stay here with my partner. It was so peaceful and serene during the day and night. Their dogs kept us company and Lola was the sweetest girl - even being protective of us against a neighbor dog. Would definitely return!

Had a hiccup first night with taking the wrong path but the owner drove us back to cabin - So sweet of him and was so polite about it.

We found Skybox through a search for a very low-key honeymoon spot after our wedding on January 8th. On the website, it was everything we were looking for; once we settled in at the Nest, we knew we made the right choice. The cabins, each hand-built and customized individually, were the epitome of peace and simplicity. Even with other people nearby, the cabins are spread apart so well, and conveniently built around trees that give you a bit of privacy to just relax. You cannot escape, however, from the sweet dogs on this property. Lola, Twinkie, and a working dog named Brother (not owned by the cabin owners) kept us warm company during our stay. They made us feel like family.
During our stay, DFW and surrounding areas were hit with pretty icy winter weather. It's something I should have anticipated but as a full time Texas resident, I always have my doubts when snow is on the radar. However, this meant we couldn't get home due to unsafe driving conditions. We were able to extend our stay, transferring to the Hive, which is equally as beautiful. Rock salt was laid out while we moved all of our things so that we wouldn't slip down the honeycomb-like path (Yvan saved our lives). On top of all of this, everyone made sure that we had enough food to last us 3 more days. My husband has a metabolic disorder, and has to eat every 3-4 hours. They didn't know this; they just wanted to make sure we were comfortable. They picked up our grocery order for us and hand delivered it to our cabin door.
I'm not typically a review leaver, just a returning customer, but I had to say something about the amazing people here and how much care they not only put into their property, but the people they allow on it. It really is a privilege to experience two of these cabins in 6 days, but my husband and I will be back to explore the rest of them. Thank you so much for making this feel like a home away from home, and for thinking of us during winter weather conditions.

Absolutely amazing! So peaceful and a great place to relax and reset! A good place to take the time to reconnect with your partner. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary and had a great time just relaxing and cooking together. The cabin was nice and cute, we stayed in the ‘La Tour’. We especially enjoyed the stock tank pool and the square hammock, so relaxing! The dogs on property were so sweet, they nearly hung out with us all day! We will definitely be back!

What an amazing place!! Loved everything about it! The views from there are amazing! Comfy bed. The hammock swing under the tree was my favorite spot. The little stock pool was great and refreshing. All in all, this is one of the best getaways I’ve had in order to escape from the hustle of the city!
I can’t wait for my next time!!

What is there NOT to LOVE? Often when you make a reservation to visit somewhere that you have never been before, there are a lot of question marks. I will be honest with you, the pictures and the actual facility do not match. What you see in person blows the pictures out of the water. If you’re looking for peaceful, calm, romantic seclusion, this is the place for you. I didn’t even know I wanted half of those things until I got to the cabin. My wife and I were celebrating her birthday and it was exactly what we needed. Be certain to walk the trail, there a LOTS of natural surprises. also, don't be intimidated but the horses will greet you on your walk. The dogs will also visit and they were such good dogs!!! Most everything about our stay was fantastic but I will add one comment, La Tour has a single toilet and it is on the first floor but the bedroom and shower is upstairs, so we also had to go downstairs to use the restroom. Not a major issue but it was occasionally inconvenient. Please don't let that impact you decision to stay!

I think my girlfriend described it best when she said "I still can't believe it" after I sent her a picture of this beautiful chapel that the owners built on the property. We had a wonderful time at Skybox. There is a hiking trail on the property that I highly recommend. It is a beautiful and peaceful place. You can tell that the owners are putting their heart and soul into this property, and I hope to go back someday. I usually don't go back to places that I have been because the world is full of things to see, but this place I would make an exception for.

Absolutely loved this place! We stayed in the birdhouse! Enjoyed the fire pit one evening and sitting on the balcony watching the thunderstorms roll in the next!
Several small towns and a state park to visit nearby. Loved the mattress so much we bought one for ourselves. Never saw another soul during our visit, but did get a visit by the friendly dogs! Definitely plan on coming back for another visit!
