I was visiting from France on May 2nd with my family. I am physically challenged, traveling with a wheelchair and the accessible gear that I needed to compete in the 70.3 IronMan in St. George on May 6. Because of all the equipment my parents need to carry for me, we had to travel with a large vehicle and when we showed-up at the gate of Horseshoe Bend we were asked to pay $35 that is to say the price for a commercial vehicle - even though we were repeating to the lady at the fee station that were a family with a 12-seater van because of all the equipment. She didn't want to hear it and kept repeating "you have a commercial-size vehicle so you must pay the $35, this is the City of Page policy".
Well, let me tell you: It is a total DISGRACE that in 2023 you are PUNISHING people with disabilities like me by making them pay the price of a commercial vehicle even though our van was smaller than an RV (for which you charge $10, not $35). What a SHAME. Clearly the city of Page seems to need badly to make money on the back of people traveling all the way from Europe, especially those in situation of handicap. Travelers should avoid spending their money in Page and drive to other locations that are friendlier with people with disabilities.
