The customer service is very southern hospitality & the food is good traditional southern soul food. I have had the turkey leg dinner, pot roast dinner, catfish plate & burger plate. My favorite are her burgers (seasoned just right), the best in town. Jungle juice (koolaid fruit punch mixed with lemonade) is really good. Not a fan of the pull apart cinnamon roll.

Cedes place is off the beaten path. On Hooker street near the JSU campus it’s easy to miss. Blue and white signage in an older strip mall/parking lot is your signal.

Inside is a sparse, but reasonably clean restaurant with sights and sounds of home cooking and more.

The menu is limited, but there are more times not listed.

Today you had the option of fried chicken, baked chicken, turkey necks, red beans and rice, pork chop, catfish, pan trout and you always have the option of burgers, fries, wings and birria tacos.

The fried chicken is good. A crispy leg and thigh combo, dropped to order it sizzles and pops while you wait.

Sides were dressing with cranberry sauce and candied yams. It was Thanksgiving in March! Try the sweet potato cornbread muffin. Thank me later.

The red beans and rice were seasoned and had a mixture of sausage and turkey meat. Just the right amount of whole beans and mashed beans. It was real.
Lima beans and green beans for sides. They were what you’d expect. The roll was a they-made-it soft roll.

Dessert was pull apart cinnamon roll. It was huge. Warm, soft, yeasty and crumbly on top with sweet icing. This was good. There are a few other dessert options.

To drink is kool aid, lemon aid or try the combo known as Jungle Juice. Soft drink cans/bottle are in a refrigerator in the dining room.

Friendly service. It is not fast food. Fried Chicken and burgers are made to order. Allow sufficient time.

There are 3 tables in the place. 2-four tops and 1 2-seater high top. Most orders are to go.

I tried them for the first time today after seeing a post on Facebook and they are delicious. I had the catfish dinner plate with greens , candied yams , and sweet potato cornbread. The wait wasn’t long as I placed a walk in order and the customer service was very southern and genuine. The flavor was amazing of the items I had were amazing.

Decided to try this place out from seeing facebook posts. Ordered the catfish plate and let me just say.. bomb!! It was so crispy and flavorful..everything was freshly made. i can’t wait to go back to try other things there!

I've been there twice this week and bought double meals cause I couldn't drive there every day🙂 Food and service were amazing! So far I've had the fried catfish, hot honey wings, spicy bbq wings, fried pork chops, turkey necks over a bed of rice, baked chicken over a bed of rice, Mac and cheese, candied yams and greens! I say so far, because I'm definitely going back!

It's a hidden gem! If you haven't been, you should go! Definitely recommend it!

The food was good but the price was a shocker. But, I do understand when there is only one location, you have to make money. They were very nice. I will be going back and recommend giving them a try.

First time being here, but the noodles in the tetrazzini was a bit mushy so I wouldn’t say I would never go back
