Coffee is ok, very very dark roast. Small flat white for $5.5; cabinet doesn’t have prices displayed tho.

Edit: changing from 3 stars to 1 due to the owners lovely attitude and inspiring perseverance taking feedbacks?

I’ve got to say, of all the coffee places I’ve been to in Melbourne A Story So Far stands out as a little slice of heaven. Ken and his team have looked after the AO tennis broadcast crew (who stay nearby) for years, and is without a doubt one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. If you want a good morning chat and some excellent recommendations for different coffees to try then this is the place to be. He has pastries delivered from all kinds of local bakers (9 I think) from the community, incredible support shown here; so be sure to get there early to grab one. Little tables and chairs spill outside where you can enjoy the morning sun. Thanks so much for looking after us Ken. Keep up the good work.

Story So Far, Melbourne, VIC, Australia ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a little cafe during the day and next door there is a pizza and wine bar by night. A cute little neighbourhood gem, they only offer a handful of pizzas (only 3 of 5 available today) and a few different wine. No fuss kinda place and it's busy with locals either sitting in or picking up.

I like the feel of this place, very chilled vibe. Free sparkling water which is a plus and the rose they have by the bottle is from Provence, it's delicious and only $36. What a steal!

Pizzas (pineapple and margarita) were both yummy and hit the spot. Delicious crust. will definitely come back as we're around the corner, would love a bit more variety of the pizzas / offering but I get why they stick to what works and a small menu.

WATCHOUT: no prices on baked goods! No surcharge information. Surcharge on the weekend is 50%

Paid: $17.24 for 2 muffins ($5.9 per muffin + the surcharge).

The food was lovely, the coffee is Melbourne standard (which is pretty good). But they couldn't tell me the ingredients in the muffins (am pregnant and was worried that the fruit was stewed in alcohol). So that is concerning for anyone with allergies.

However, the food is of good quality. Simply the service and bad practices that leaves a bad after-taste.

Edit in response to the owner: I have attached the transaction here and will be asking for the receipt.

Local here.

Pizza is amazing, but really lack of staff and I can feel how overwhelmed the man is when the place is filled with people.

The man constantly feeling so frustrated and even throwing napkins at my table.

Couldn’t finish a pizza I politely asked for a takeaway bag, he just gave a frustrated look and a sigh and moved on to serve another customer. I have even asked even I was ordering, in case I can’t finish can I please have it as takeaway and the answer was yes.

Perhaps being overwhelmed and being impolite to customer is very different things.

I just want to give a fair review for its quality of pastry and pizza dough; the lady serving coffee at cafe is amazing too. Just hoping the mixed review helps in overall improvement and hopefully they find extra help!
