We went and service was quick! The barbacoa tacos were very good and flavorful they and a good selection of interesting beers. Our nachos were a different story though, they had no flavor and the chips were burnt. Although the presentation was amazing, they were just not good and needed seasoning. Probably won't go back.

Excellent Beers, Food and Outdoor Patio
After visiting the Downtown Taproom, I had to try the new taproom in the Sam Hughes neighborhood. While they do offer some food, I just wanted to try some beers. We sat outside in a nice patio area, but as the desert air cooled off, we retreated inside to a cozy space with comfy couches, chairs and tables. I had to start with the German Chocolate Cake Porter that is just that - that famous, tasty cake in liquid form at 7.3% ABV. Absolutely delicious! I then had the Noche Dulce Vanilla Porter also at 7.3% ABV. Great vanilla aroma and flavor. I got in my dark beer fix and visited someplace new - a perfect evening!

Great tacos and a full bar, in a repurposed service station. Cold A/C inside and cold beer on tap from local and guest breweries. What more could you ask for on a hot summer day! One of my local favorites.

The Salmon Burger was delicious, very good fish, though it needed a bit more sauce. My partner liked the Taco Flight (all beef), and it was a huge serving!

The $10 Spiked Aguas Frescas cocktail menu is awesome with a good variety. I had the paloma con bacanora and my partner had the horchata rum ?

Small requests - mayo, salsitas for tacos, chicken tacos. Gracias ?

The ironic thing about this, was our indecisiveness, my wife and I, prior to wanting to try something extremely close to home, instead of her beloved Red Garter Bar and Grill. Tucson's newest "trendy" restaurant is quite deceiving.....it's pretty much designed more like a coffee shop, with very little parking space and more actual space being on the patio than the inside. A cool mural on the wall, a record player with a few retro classics doesn't make it hip. I, a native Angeleno, my wife a native Tucsonan and we do the beer fest and all that at the other Borderlands....but this place is just a money grab. And it's sad, because out of the literal freezer frozen Delimex taquitos my wife ordered for 14$ (listed on the menu as "rolled taquitos", they were straight up out of the freezer section) or the tacos deceived more by the amount placed on a tortilla than actual quality, which were completely unable to be picked up and held.......were the napkins we had to request from the waiter/cashier at a "restaurant". We are talking the cheapest brown paper towels that you would find in your HS bathrooms. The cashier/waiter, bless his heart, was pretty much the most unenthusiastic person we ran into all month, and he got his 15% tip for not much of anything, to say the least. He handed us bathroom paper towels for napkins, that's it. No how is everything, no nothing. On an over $70 meal. I've lived in bougie West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, and we at least got what we paid for. This space that should be used for a beautiful, comforting neighborhood coffee shop that's NOT Starbucks, instead of some kind of place calling itself a restaurant, with very uncomforting dining area, 6 parking spaces and of course the disguised intriguing menu......needless to say, we left there and went straight to to the Red Garter.....avoiding the Hollister boys in fli flops. ✌

Atmosphere was great, felt like being in a home. Great decor and cozy. Service was also good, very nice staff and quick service. Food was not good. We got the barbacoa tacos, carne and shrimp tacos. They were awful. I had one bite of each and that was the most I wanted. Barbacoa tasted the "best" but was ok at best. The shrimp taco had way too much green chili, it just tasted like only green chili. Carne was dry, tough, underseasonedand and it had a sour cream sauce that dominated the taco. Would never prefer food again. I'd rather have McDonald's.
