The chicken and tenders, infused with a subtle Cajun spice, were a hit. The okra, fries, and slaw were equally delicious. The restaurant lives up to its reputation for being world-famous. The friendly staff ensured that we received our order promptly. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place.

I called in to order to go on a Thursday night and thought the place was going to be busy at dinner time. It was empty when I walked in and thought I went to wrong restaurant. I was the only customer. The hostess, waiters, and waitresses took a quick glance at me and did not even acknowledge my presence even though they saw me.. It wasn’t until I asked for my to go order. Terrible service! Maybe why it was empty because of their terrible hospitality.
Onto the food, I have had pretty much all different kinds of fried chicken from all over the world. Gus is definitely OVER-RATED, OVER-HYPED, and OVER-PRICED. My guess would be Church’s if my eyes were covered up. I’d still rate Church’s better. I would NOT recommend NOR go back. Don’t waste your money. Definitely the wrong place to get the real fried chicken!!

Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken serves up some seriously delicious fried chicken with the perfect amount of spice and crunch. The sides were flavorful and complemented the chicken well. The service was friendly but a little slow during peak hours. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, making it a great spot for a laid-back meal. Overall, a solid experience!

I used to come here all the time about a year ago until I needed to take a little break from eating so much fried chicken. But it became my favorite, so when we were traveling and saw a Gus’s Fried Chicken, I *had* to stop in!

Sorry, no pictures this time—it was so good I completely forgot to snap any! We ordered the 2-piece dark snack and 3 tenders with coleslaw, and let me tell you—it tasted just as good as I remember from a year ago. So freaking good! And that coleslaw? The *only* coleslaw I’ll eat.

Of course, we’ll be back sooner rather than later. Gus’s never misses!

A must stop down in Deep Elum. Word famous. Not just because of the fried fresh hot chicken, but the friendly service. Namely AJ. You won't go unattended even when packed. Each staff member also by and thank you for your support. The chicken and sides are fire. The mac and cheese is warm and creamy like the potatoe salad, baked beans, fried okra and slaw. The menu is amazing. Can't give kuddos to the chess pie, but i tried. 2 out of 10. The vibe is accompanied by the 70-80's Playlist in the background. Takes you wayyyy back. Noticed several patrons jamming out while waiting and the younger gen head bobbing to the beat. I will be a repeat customer next time.

The chicken was delicious! Well seasoned, very crispy and very juicy! The sides, which I got mac n cheese and potato salad, were also delicious! Would definitely come again if I’m around!

Close friend of mine said that this was a really good place to eat good fried chicken. And it actually really was it was better than Sweet Georgia Brown hands down. The food was great the , service was amazing in the atmosphere was amazing. Mr. Punch aka SpongeBob 🤣😂🤣😂🤣 that was a great server. I thought he said SpongeBob when he was introducing his name so I just stuck with SpongeBob.

The fried chicken was the prefect amount of crispy and well seasoned. The mac and cheese complemented the chicken very well. Very laid back atmosphere, making it a great spot to grab drinks and chicken.
