We enjoyed our experience at Komodo.
The stand outs were the Korean fried chicken and the Surf and Turf fried rice.
Although the redfish was the prettiest presentation, they take the meat of the fish and fry little balls instead of leaving the meat intact. We weren’t crazy about all the little fried balls. The Peking duck was served with huge chunks which we all felt should have been sliced much thinner considering the delicacy of the pancakes served along side.
They gave us complimentary shots because we were celebrating a birthday which was greatly appreciated. It was some kind of a tequila concoction and it was very tasty.
We had much better luck with our service than most have described. I’d suggest going on a week day. It wasn’t busy at all.
Lastly, portions are way too big. Although a lot of food is appreciated, it sort of detracts from the gourmet feel IMHO.
I’d definitely suggest sharing instead of each person ordering their own plate.

First, let's start with the fact that I came to the restaurant to celebrate my birthday. At first there was a crazy load of cars waiting to enter the parking lot. When I asked if parking was free, they told me yes! So they took my car. We entered the restaurant, waited a little, and then we sat down. The menu was quite expensive, but I came to celebrate my birthday, so the prices didn't matter to me that much. We ordered a lot of dishes from the menu, but to my surprise, the dishes were more than one bite. The taste was great, but everything was so small. Even the cocktail was loaded with ice, which was less than 1 inch of drink. The atmosphere in the restaurant was luxurious and the service was courteous, but I will never go back
again. I feel like a joke.
Btw the When I left the restaurant to get my car back, they charged us more money when they initially said it was free.

( I forgot to draw that I returned one of the dishes because I ordered sushi and got rolled salmon, after which they changed it to sushi so cheap without vegetables that it costs maybe $2 and sells it for $50.)

I’ve come to Komodo in Dallas a hand full of times, and each time it never disappoints. Ask for Jourdan! He’s easy on the eyes, and his food recommendations were on POINT.
We allowed him to curate our entire dinner experience; from the drinks/wine, to the small plates, shared entrees, to the dessert. Just sit back, relax, and let the courses flow. The Banana Pagoda is my fave! Have it with some Champagne!
Not to mention… management visited our table to ensure we were having a great time. Pierce and Sergio were so hospitable! Thanks for the round of “Komodo shots” ! I love it when the management team is so hands on in the guests experience. They are doing it right ! Will definitely be back.

My first impression for brunch ($72 a person) was not amazed. I was expecting a lot more but their crab claws were super small (which is probably the higher priced item in their buffet). They had a bunch of other items in their buffet but food takes time to come out. Food is good though. I’m glad I got to experience but I would not come back. I got the miso salmon and the salmon is so tender but the sauce was too sweet for me. Their fried eggplant is very greasy. I was expecting a tempura like batter (lighter), it was still tasty but I couldn’t eat more than 3. My friend got the wagyu burger and honestly, I wouldn’t tell a difference if you put regular ground beef in there. Nothing special imo. Fries were crispy and seasoned well. My other friend got the breakfast bagel and the meat was dry like it’s been sitting out for a while. Flavored well though. Their Guabao is rather tasty! If you like spiciness it’s a good choice. Their dumplings were good, nothing special. Their sushi was tasty! Super small and goes away quick. Their fresh fruit bowl is adorable and their fresh juice is delicious.
Overall, I’m not highly impressed. Yes they have maybe 1-5 high ticket items on their lineup but I wasn’t impressed with the taste. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the service is unmatched. For $72 I guess I was hoping to get whisked off my feet but I might have been coming here expecting too much ᵕ̈ great place if you wanna try it out at least once. It’s a good experience. They do have live music as well.

Edit: we went during lunch time, around 12PM and their buffet was empty a majority of the time, especially their more “expensive” items. I ended up giving up to go check for more food because 50% of the time I’d get up to get more, there wouldn’t be any.

Very fun/ upbeat vibes. Went here for a bday party with a group of seven. We had a circular table which was amazing and our service was incredible!!! The food wasn’t out of this world, but did taste good. The drinks were not good at all, don’t recommend spending the money on specialty cocktails. My mojito was fine (although very syrupy), but my friend’s espresso martini was awful.

I have to be harsh with my review for the pure fact we waited over an hour to be seated for our reservation. The night continue to be slow with service. I was paying for my food four hours after our reservation time that is ridiculous. Corporate/higher management needs to be better about double or even triple booking tables you are clearly putting your staff at the front line to deal with the outcome of the scheduling mishap. I saw customers yelling at the hostess when people have to wait this long to be seated and then even longer to have their food, you will get angry people. our server was doing his best to remedy the situation. This place has potential and I hope it finds it.

As for the food, do not get me started .. the food that was suggested to us was great. I really enjoyed the steak tacos the drinks and the dumplings. My main dish which was a surf and fried rice was mostly fried rice if I had to guess there was less than 2 ounces of steak along side of overcooked shrimp and no crab to be found. considering this is a $30 plate. It would have been nice to have more of the premium ingredients. The dessert was nice.

Overall, this isn’t a place I would really recommend at the moment. However, once they address these issues, this could be a really nice dinner spot. I think it’s overpriced for what they are offering the vibes are if RA sushi had a nightclub and was 3 times more expensive.

Our last night in the US and it was one of the best we had. The food was outstanding, as were the service and atmosphere.
A really vibey club feel with a cool bar and great fusion menu.
We had the money bag dumplings, tuna roll, pepper steak, bok choy and fried rice. Great to get some fresh vegetables without the usual deep fried fare in so many other places. There was also a Peking duck special that they had on offer for a limited period.
We were there early without a booking but we were offered full service at the bar and, surprisingly, the seating was really comfortable.
Drinks menu is well thought through and the wine selection, although limited, was good quality. The local Deep Ellum IPA was also tasty.
If in Dallas, seek this place out!

I had dinner here with a couple gfs. Our servers were sweet and knowledgeable. The cocktails were tasty and food was great. Managers were friendly enough to stop by and check on us.
