Great tasting food for a dedicated gluten free place! Definitely coming back here. Got the avalanche pupusas and it was smothered in queso which made it extra delicious. The plantains were perfectly cooked and also something to definitely get if you like plantains.

Terrible experiences two times in a row.

About two weeks ago, my family came in for dinner, three hours before closing. There were people eating and waiting in line. After about 10 minutes, those in line left because no one took their order. We waited another 5 minutes before looking for someone. When we found staff, they told us, "We are closed," as if it was common knowledge, despite five other people waiting in line. No sign or communication. Everyone was frustrated.

I gave them another chance recently, trying not to judge. I ordered a cheeseless pupusa with no aioli, while my wife ordered one with cheese and aioli. They brought us both cheesed and aioli-covered pupusas and they told us "they both have cheese in them". After we complained, they came back and said my wife had the right one, and the one she was eating was my cheeseless order. I mentioned I asked for no aioli (which upsets my stomach). After a short wait, they returned with the attached image. I couldn't believe they gave me a partially eaten pupusa with the aioli scraped off. It seems like the manager or owner doesn't know how to run a business.

It's one of those places that you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. No real wait staff, but they still expect tips. I had to wait for someone to come back to the counter to get a refill on my soft drink, so I was annoyed that I tipped at all. Silver lining is the refills were free. Food was good. Probably a better lunch spot or take out place than a sit down dinner spot. Not bad for the price.

Went in very hungry so ordered 5 pupusas and al pastor tacos for my family.
Pupusas are giant but they were alright very greasy too. Yucca fries were not fresh and the rice/beans tasted old. Tacos were a disappointment. The sauces and curtido were good and tasted fresh. First time in Colorado Springs, I hope they do better for future clients. Cute little spot though.

Super unique and absolutely delicious. I love how the majority of their ingredients are locally sourced and the restraunts story of how it come to be is heart warming.
So happy to have this place in my backyard and it taste so good! ❤️
I'd consider it one of those special hole in the wall type places. Very good, highly recommend. You get a lot of food, so think about maybe sharing and then splitting an appetizer. 😉

We were blown away by the food at Monse’s! I fell in love with pupusas about a decade ago and I’m always on the lookout for Pupuserias. I’ve even made them at home, but nothing compares to what we experienced at Monse’s! The pupusas come in a good variety and are filled in fresh masa and cooked to order. My favorite was the green chili and cheese smothered in birria. The corn on the side in crema was delicious and both the green and red salsas were amazing. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service was good, and the overall experience was exceptional. We were visiting from out of town and went twice because we enjoyed ourselves so much. The highlight for me was meeting the owner and talking with her about her story. She’s kind and so talented. I’m so impressed with her. She brought us a side of Escabeche and visited with us on our return trip. These are the foodie experiences I live for. ♥️ Definitely worth going!
