My husband and I have been here every year for the past 4 years but last year was my final year completing my taxes here. Double check your paperwork yourself because they did not account for things that would have been to my benefit. My Roth IRA contributions were not accounted for and I nearly missed out on receiving the credit if I would not have checked it myself. They even tried to tell me I was wrong when I got the facts directly from the IRS website. Overall, the volunteers have become worse every year, increasingly unprofessional with poor attitudes. They are also very defensive in tone when you are just simply trying to get clarification. LaRonda, Judy, Allison, & Debra were all very unprofessional. I wanted to make sure to write this review right in time for tax season!

These women have very low people skills. They love to refer you to someone else. I went to them per being referred by the IRS, and did everything but beg to them to help me. Previously, I met someone that did my taxes-wrong. He did not complete the 8962 nor did he send in the 1095a 's. I don't plan on using him nor this bunch of lazy incompetent African American women who have mastered the skills of gas lighting!

In 2023 I came To the neighborhood Association, To have My tax return with an extension completed. Savannah is one of the only places in this area That offers tax extensions free. Miss deborah what's a godsent for me. Part of my tax return included A donation to my church through my IRA. This was a new dimension for the neighborhood improvement association. Miss wilson had completed my taxes and had given them to miss debra for review when I noticed I owed three hundred dollars. I PREVIOUSLY do my taxes at home before coming in to be sure they have covered everything I am aware of and then hopefully more. I knew something was a school.Because I should have owed less than a hundred dollars by my calculations. I spoke with miss debra and explained The new law Which allowed you to make a Donation to your church of choice through your IRA or your 401 k.
She understood what I was referring to and believed she would be able to help. She had some follow up work and some individuals she would need to work with to accomplish filing my tax return. She was courtious and had a real desire to help even though it was out of the norm. She was good to her word. A few days later, Debra called to have me comeback, the Tax Return was ready to be filed. I am so greateful for Debra's desire to help and her tenacity to accomplish what she has started. It is now 2024 and I have returned to see Debra and her winning smile.
Thank you--Debra--

God Bless

Good place, the volunteers and officemanager are generally polite; just be aware that any errors on your returns are on you, not the preparer. Also, it's best to deal face-to-face; even though you might be quietly given a form for the actual IRS office when you inquire in person more than twice over a couple of months.

This is a great place to get your taxes done. The people there are over work, but never too tired to help you and friendly, too. The biggest and best thing about this place is that it is free to get your taxes done. This is my go to place to get my taxes done.

I came here with my mother about 5 or 6 years back and they handled my employment information very well, they also included my military service w2s (which numerous voluntary tax preparation facilities claim they could add). I'm not in the position this year to go anywhere to pay anyone...so this was facility was the 1st that came mind. Definitely will be by there soon.

These mug fukas are getting taken longer than usual it's been over 2 months and they don't even call you to prep your taxes. On top of that they hang up in your face when you call about it. All they do is tell you it's gonna take a long they give you no updates They just ask for your number and your last for a social and tell you that they will call you and it never happens
