We had a wonderful time at Lake Tahoe taking photos with Kimmi for our proposal/engagement shoot. Not only was Kimmi a fantastic photographer, she was also extremely communicative and accommodating while helping me plan “the moment” and surprise. And of course she beautifully captured the joy & scenery on the day of! She gave very articulate advice/suggestions on location, time, aesthetics, setups, and everything else that goes into a lovely proposal spot around the lake, allowing me to feel confident about the logistics leading up to the day. I think anyone headed to Tahoe who needs a comfortable, reliable, and high-quality photography experience can’t go wrong with Starscape Studios!

Longer version- I started planning a proposal for my girlfriend a number of months ago. One of the first things I started looking into was a photographer. There were a number of options in the Tahoe area. One of the first things I noticed about Starscape was how true to the moment Kimmi’s photos were. I have a decent amount of experience with photography and was truly impressed with the natural feelings they invoked. Not over edited, beautiful locations, all different times of the year. You can just see the passion and desire to capture what I found to be one of the most import moments of my life.

I reached out to Kimmi via email and heard back in a perfectly timely manner. Her communication was clear and concise. Kimmi had a number of suggestions for locations depending on what type of a background I was after. After just a couple of quick notes back and forth, we had a location figured out. I think by this time we had moved to texting. (guys- program her in as mom or something… inside joke) Kimmi sent me full on GPS coordinates, some photos of where to park, walk to as well as what to expect, including where she would be.

I had been scheduling the big day around a day that my stepdaughter could join us as she is a huge part of our family. We were also lucky enough to have our niece join as well. Kimmi was more than open to grabbing some family photos as well as engagement shots during our shoot. Needless to say, we had been trying to do family photos for a year now! We were finally down to go-time and my girlfriend was running late (sorry babe). Kimmi was absolutely great rolling with our schedule delays and was completely understanding. We arrived and I popped the question, Kimmi caught some of the truest emotion between my then girlfriend and I. It was great! We took a number of photos with the two of us and then the rest of the family and then moved to a second location for some additional shots. Everything turned out absolutely amazing.

Kimmi made everything so easy on her side it was great. Her photos are amazing, my fiancé loved her and we will be discussing our wedding photography with her once we have a date picked!

Kimmi from Starscape Studios did a wonderful job photographing our wedding. We had a small, intimate at home ceremony and Kimmi was able to capture the happiness expressed through all of our guests. Our best man was our pitbull-lab mix who was the absolute star of the evening, and his radiance was perfectly captured. Her work is very detail oriented and communication was top notch. Kimmi did an amazing job of photographing our small backyard wedding in South Lake Tahoe in June! We live out of town, so we corresponded over Zoom and email before the wedding and were able to plan some great photo locations together. Kimmi is super knowledgeable about the scenery and locations around Tahoe and had great ideas.

The day of the wedding, she was so kind and approachable and made everyone feel comfortable, while also capturing wonderful pictures (a great mixture of posed and candid) of the day and of the lovely Tahoe landscape. Often wedding photos can look overly posed to me, but ours look really natural- in large part because Kimmi was so easy to work (and get along) with.
