I keep getting tricked into going here for the Portland food weeks, and I always leave disappointed.

The food is always just a tad underseasoned. And the layout of the restaurant doesn't make a ton of sense. Especially with the foosball table and air hockey tables.

Also that energy 1% charge they add to the bill is such B.S.
If my bill is $30, and I get hit with a $0.30 energy charge, and I tip 20%, I'm still leaving a total of $36. That 30 cents is just being taken away from the server. The business isn't actually charging more/paying more like the spirit of the policy was intending, the business is just hurting their own staff by opting into this program.

Do better Marriot

Our server was quick and kind and even gave us recommendations of places to visit while in the city. Breakfast was great. Even our 1 year old loved it.

Went to the Social Spoon for breakfast on a couple occasions, along with a quick stop for lunch. Nothing on the menu is anything you havent had before, but everything is done well. Eggs, Bacon, Sausage patty.... Have had them all plenty of times, and it's not always consistent. Here it was.
What I was most happy with was my Bartender and Server, Rachel. Welcoming, smiling and pleasant.. Thanks, Rachel and thank you for your recommendations!

I'm a 20+ yr veteran server. Aaron was awful. Took 20 min to take our order. My son had spicy breakfast, drank all his water. I had to go up to Aaron twice to ask for water. He scowled and actually angrily slapped his hand on the counter and banged the water pitcher against a cabinet, then sloppily poured the water in our glasses. We remained polite and still said our pleases and thank yous. He was extremely unattentive. Worst service I've experienced in years.

Loved the chilaquiles, which have a flavorful spicy ancho salsa on them and a perfectly cooked sunnyside-up egg.

The staff are wonderful. But the food is lacking — the oatmeal is instant and the waffle machine is not working
