I’m not one to write reviews and when I do, I definitely hesitate to write anything negative. However, given the overwhelming positive reviews for this place, I feel that I just have to share my thoughts for the next guest. I can understand how this made it on the Michelin guide because they have all of the right characteristics of a Michelin star restaurant but the execution unfortunately by the kitchen was not great. Great friendly and very accommodating staff, all the right ingredients and presentation of a high-end restaurant but the taste was just not there. Paying over $700 for a dinner for two I should be going home incredibly satisfied but instead I was incredibly disappointed. Even the dish covered in fresh black truffle just couldn’t save the lack of flavor underneath. Although we enjoyed the music, it felt like it just didn’t fit the ambience. All night it was early 2000s hip-hop which would have been great for a bar, but not this place.
I think my biggest pet peeve at the end of the night was us being given a bill with 22% gratuity already included for a party of two and then being told that the 22% is for the chef and the kitchen staff and not for the servers. And that if we wanted to leave anything for the servers, it would be extra. So I basically ended up tipping 40% on an already inflated bill so that the chef can have more money?! That’s just wild. Sadly wasted a babysitter and a date night on this place. There’s potential here. That can do better, but the current state is sad and underwhelming.

By far one of my favorite omakase experiences to date. From the atmosphere and customer service to the food and drinks EVERYTHING was ON POINT! I was beyond blown away with our experience. We truly felt at home. The food was delicious. We did the wine pairings and not a single one disappointed. Already planning my next visit! Definitely worth the price!

To make this short and sweet, this place is amazing, we highly recommend it. It is located in the heart of winter park, on Lyman and park ave. Chef Ryan has two restaurants in Washington, one has two Michelin stars and the other has one. I will bet money Omo will also have at least one star for the next Michelin cycle. This place is absolutely special. From the moment you enter until the time you leave the staff are treating you as you would want to be treated at a place of this level/cost. There are three chef tastings, and we did the one that was in the middle, so $199 per person. I honestly lost track of how many courses we were served, it was a lot. This place is very much an experiential dinner, starting in the front room/lounge with small savory and sweet dishes and some champagne. We were then moved to the main kitchen where many more dishes were served along with a ridiculous old fashioned that used no whiskey! Say what? I found the thought blasphemous as I’m a whiskey collector, but sure enough it was delicious even though they only used wine products. During this dining portion they even brought out a special selection of chopsticks so that we could pick our own out. After this portion of the night was done, we then were whisked away to the bar living room area, and were blown away by the countless desert courses, including a giant Japanese box contraption with even more treats. Our concierge was a young man from Puerto Rico who genuinely made our night so much more special, and I hope he’s with us again for our next dinner at Omo. From beginning to end, we absolutely loved our experience here, and we will definitely be back again. It is noteworthy that we have been to numerous Michelin starred restaurants around the world, and this one definitely ranks highly up there. I’m so happy chef Ryan decided to open up Omo in our home of WP! Oh, last thing, the whole time we were there they played 90’s 2000’s hip hop which was super nostalgic and super unexpected for a place like this. I bet some of the older folks might not like that, but I think it’s awesome and makes things more relaxed and gives a feel of authenticity since it’s Chef Ryan’s favorite music.

If I'm going to be spending $1000+ for a meal for 2, I'm expecting something much more impressive than this. The culinary style is French/Japanese inspired and nothing tasted bad per se, but nothing was particularly good or showed amazing technique. The 2 main meat courses were not good, and there shouldn't be an upcharge to get Japanese A5 Wagyu when the base price for the meal is already so high. There were also way too many dessert courses, as if they were trying to make up for not being able to come up with more savory courses. They ruined the atmosphere with modern hip hop/pop music played loud enough that we couldn't hear what the servers were saying as they described the dishes. They seemed to have cheaped out on the material for the chef's counter countertops. It's basically sawdust covered with a nice coating that makes it appear to be quartz. Worst of all, when you're handed the check, they tell you the 22% tip already included is only for kitchen staff, so tipping the servers would have to be extra. I've never seen this in a restaurant before. I've been to actual 3 Michelin Star restaurants, paid less, and been much more impressed by the meal. I won't be coming back here even if it was significantly cheaper.

Omo by Jont is an absolute gem in Winter Park. From the moment you step in, you are welcomed into an elegant and intimate space where every detail is carefully curated. The atmosphere exudes sophistication without feeling pretentious, making it a perfect setting for an unforgettable omakase experience.
The French-Japanese fusion cuisine is nothing short of extraordinary. Each course is a masterpiece. The flavors are balanced, and the presentation is great. With so many courses, every bite feels like a new and exciting journey through the chef’s creativity.
The service is equally impressive—attentive, warm, and knowledgeable. The staff enhances the experience with their passion and expertise, making sure every guest feels special.
While everything about the food and service was impeccable, the only drawback was the tipping structure. A 22% service charge is automatically included for the chef and kitchen staff, but diners are expected to tip extra for their waiter or waitress. Having dined at several Michelin-starred and high-end restaurants, I found this a bit unusual. Nonetheless, this does not take away from the outstanding experience that Omo by Jont delivers.
If you’re looking for an elegant and unique omakase experience, Omo by Jont is absolutely worth a visit. The exceptional food, warm hospitality, and attention to detail make it a standout destination for any food enthusiast.

Food and wine pairing were excellent, and service is great (friendly but professional). I love the "progressive meal" feeling -- you start in the front "parlor" with a complimentary glass of champagne to enjoy snacks (four in the mid-level "Journey" tasting that we had); move to the chef's counter at the rear of the restaurant for the main courses; and then settle into the cozy lounge in the middle for multiple dessert courses.

Favorite courses: foie gras donut, scallop with sunchoke, wagyu beef, citrus bomb. Wine pairing was very well paired but quite overpriced ($125 for four small (2oz) pours, no dessert wine).

The ambiance is lovely visually, but the music was simply awful in our opinion -- very loud rap/hiphop that doesn't suit the atmosphere (or the price you're paying for the meal). (I would enjoy the music at a dance club. Not at a fine dining restaurant. We couldn't even hear the waiter who described our snack courses because the music is so deafening in the front parlor.) I also didn't care for the "upselling" (overpriced supplement courses), though at least they didn't do a "hard sell."

If they adjusted the music style/volume (and offered a more reasonable wine selection), I would definitely give the restaurant five stars. Absolutely worth checking out!

If you want something really special, amazing and incredible- this is right place.
We didn't celebrate anything, but all the time we spent- we were thinking that we are celebrating something.
Impeccable service.
And food something else, since I can promise you, in 99% cases you never tried it before.
Thanks to everybody who made that night so special!

How fortunate we are to have this level of restaurant in Orlando now! There was a time when you had to go to New York, Chicago, LA, or, yes, Washington DC, where Omo's two-star Michelin parent is located, in order to have this type of dining experience. Now we have a wealth of fabulous omakase experiences in Orlando. But Omo isn't like the other omakases, because it isn't about sushi and sashimi, like Sorekara or Soseki. It's closer in concept to Camille, but with the added experience of moving from space to space as you dine.

You begin in the lounge for a series of "snacks" featuring foie gras, wagyu, and caviar. Then you progress to dinner at an L-shaped counter that seats 16.

Each course was a thoughtful and complex construction, meticulously assembled in front of us, and accompanied by a dazzling assortment of dishes, cutlery and yes, one set of chopsticks.

Finally a flurry of sweet bites are served in the dessert room.

The menu offers two levels of dining. We opted for the more elaborate version, The Jaunt. It's twenty or so courses included many pricey ingredients such as truffles, wagyu, and caviar. At about twice the price, it was an indulgence, but I don't know that the experience was otherwise significantly different for those who opted for the simpler menu.

There were many stunning dishes, but the one that sticks in my memory was actually an intermezzo of peeled heirloom cherry tomatoes, wasabi, and verbena, served with basil sorbet!

Service was as you would expect from the offspring of a two-star Michelin.

Wine pairings are available, but we opted for a couple of bottles from the excellent wine list.

There is a lot of competition in Orlando now, but I would say that as of this writing Omo is the city's most spectacular restaurant.
