Your talents and efforts can be used in a more proper workplace, not here. A very negative culture here and I hung in there for a while but it has probably been the most traumatic job experience I’ve ever had. You stand in the middle of the street in downtown Long Beach where crime is happening all the time, and you will have to trick people into signing up for a free phone. You will have to drive to and from the location they give you, and you will have to stand around a tent in the sun or in the cold and bother people walking by. Please note, that traveling expenses are not covered and gas is way more expensive now. There will be dangerous things around you all day, and even if anything happens to you out there, Mela Group will take no responsibility. They will teach you methods of how to trick someone into signing up, and call those ‘meetings’. In those meetings they will continuously speak about how to ‘make something of yourself’…to motivate you into selling phones on the streets. They have a ‘rule book’ and the first rule is “don’t touch Mike’s (boss) shit” which goes to show the lack of structure within the group. The way you initially get ‘promoted’ in this job is simply to stay after work hours and ‘ask questions’, which again goes to show that there is no structure, just if the boss likes you or not. They will lure you in with ‘effort makes money’ but there are many other ways to make the same money, so I hope no one else has to suffer through this. If you choose ‘commission’ based, note that you will basically not get paid unless you trick 10 people a day. There is no valence to this so called ‘job’, so please move on and apply to another company that will respect you as an employee, and as a person.

Needed a job and they gave me one, left company for completely unrelated reasons to the companies work environment, or work load. My take, if your young unsure about your future career wise by all means best place to be, can handle and look at any challenge as a problem to solve you’ll fit right in. My stand point on the individuals with the negative experience, just wasn’t the right fit for you. Nothing but love to MELA.

I cannot speak anymore highly about this company and team. They are superb in every way, and provide quality managerial training that can take you anywhere. Plus, as a bonus, they even help you develop your own business
Not going to lie, it is hard work, especially at the distributor level and leadership level, but make it past those first two, the manager level onwards will be your promised land. Basically, you get what you put in.
Also, the managers and business owners are salt of the earth; just great people in all aspects who will give you the shirt off their back if need be.

It is a different environment to work in compared to other working companies, it has a different mindset, its encouraging. The morning meetings are inspiring, and the talks too. I left for other reasons, but if the company was closer in distance It would be nice… the people are cool to work with, I will miss. Its a great company learn a lot, as their is always room to learn something new. Thankful.

Great place to work! Under awesome leadership with clear vision. Unfortunately I couldn't sustain due to old knee injuries and if you want to be successful in the business, you have to go out there and get it and be on your feet 8-10 hours a day for a couple of weeks. I totally respect that. I would love to return once I get knee surgery or lose weight. I really felt a sense of empowerment working here for the few days that I did!

awful environment. will hire anyone. RUN ! He will do anything in his power to make it seem like you're not doing your job correctly. I have never once complained about doing my job at this point it’s all about image that Michael Flint (the owner) can’t hold properly. Last time I remember I was bringing people in for his ran down company. My retention says otherwise. He's the definition of a joke. This man is a con artist and pays people under the table just so he doesn't have to pay a lot of taxes... just sad and pathetic. You can tell how he is as a person by how he replies to bad reviews. He simply cannot handle the truth and deserves to be in jail with the illegal actives that go around in that nasty infected office (THE HUB). Instead of making your admins write fake reviews for you just be a good person and run your business the right way .#DOBETTER

I was questioning the company at first when I applied and continued in through the interview process. I see a ton of reviews that are negative on here from people that haven't worked here, made it to the field, or even made it to the interview. Let me set the situation straight: Owner is real and tells it how it is. It is a job that requires people with strong character and follow through. I have a degree in organizational psychology and I am a Marine veteran that can tell you that success is not paved with pleasantness and polite people. This company weeds out the people that will waste time and space for people that are willing to endure working for a goal and facing challenges. If you haven't worked here then you shouldn't review the company. This job is consistent with preparing people for the harshest part of being a leader in the dog eat dog world of business competitiveness. Not for the weak or faint hearted. If you like challenge and good pay, come test yourself.

As one of the employees that made it to management, I truly recommend their management- and business training program. Not only did I learn and build skills within the marketing field, furthermore I appreciate the growth-mindset and chances I received as an international student in this Company. I felt stuck in my previous job and now worked my way up from an entry level position to Management within a year in this marketing firm. I don't know any other workplace that gives you that much room to grow. Looking into bigger cooperations, you most likely see a middle-aged white male with 20 years on his back in management (No offense..). Young and dynamic people get left behind because of seniority and politics - Mela Group is different. If you learn everything about their current t-mobile campaign and in addition the backend skills, you will get promoted to the position you see yourself in.
Cons: Is management for everyone? Absolutely not. If you like the title but not the responsibility that comes with it, you don't have what it takes. Nine to five jobs are okay, been there, tried it, wasn't for me personally. It's really all about your work ethic and mindset.
In addition: Mela Group is labeled as an essential business due to the fact that one of their campaigns work with a government funded budget. During the whole pandemic, employees were able to make their bread. All Covid protocols are in place and they care about their employees staying healthy in those challenging times.
