Steep LA is a fantastic cocktail bar that offers a unique and delightful experience. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a night out with friends or a date. One of the standout drinks on their menu is the ube cocktail. It's a pastel purple drink made with ube, which gives it a rich, creamy texture and a slightly sweet, nutty flavor. It's both visually stunning and delicious, definitely a must-try!

Another great option is their pineapple cake daiquiri. It's a classic cocktail that's perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness and tartness. The bartenders at Steep LA really know their craft, and it shows in the quality of their drinks. Whether you're a cocktail connoisseur or just looking to try something new, Steep LA won't disappoint.

This is just a review leans more on their cocktail menu over anything else.

We love the vibes, we know the tea is great. Bites are delish (even just the Furikake Popcorn is worth having more of).
But after a few cocktails we felt they didn’t match up to the price based on their flavor profiles.
Lack of balance was the common consensus across a few of these. I’m not sure he actually taste tested some of these, but they either just love sweet drinks without regard to how they really taste or just a bunch of friends be family.
Take for example the Pineapple Cake Daiquiri. A mix of rums, juice (sweet) and some egg and butter (savory). Neither really complimented the other and the ingredients felt disjointed. I’m curious on the ratios because with rums and pineapple especially it can get very sweet and overpower the other ingredients. I honestly felt the lack of some other acid like citrus (yuzu or lime would have probably bridged this better) would have helped.
Some others tasted fine though there wasn’t anything that immediately made them pop.

I get that this is main a tea spot. So it’s admirable that they even have a cocktail menu. But I’d probably stick to that myself the next time I come in. Their cocktail menu does look adventurous if not for the sake of mixing up a lot of different ingredients together. So maybe I’ll try again someday.

The tea as always, is amazing and flavorful and taste pretty much EXACTLY how they describe it.

I loved how straight forward this place was without adding too much decors and ingredients to make it seem pretentious. Love the bev forward cocktail/tea/bites menu with lots of herbal concoctions to choose from. Usually stray away from sweet drinks but all the drinks I tasted here were mildly sweet and lovely. Loved the server with red lips, super friendly and knowledgeable. ā¤ļø

Cute neighborhood tea lounge! I go here often for afternoon tea. Their lunch menu is actually pretty good - chicken and rice as well as their soba noodles were great.

I’ve also visited at night for their tea-based cocktails, and all the drinks I’ve tasted were great.

I recently stumbled upon a small bar named Steep LA, which offers Japanese cuisine and Japanese whiskey. I tried three cocktails, and they were among the best I've had in the USA. The snacks were thoughtfully crafted and complemented the drinks perfectly. It's an unexpected find in downtown Los Angeles, and I highly recommend everyone give it a try.

My wife and I came here specifically for the cocktails and WOW they did not disappoint. We tried (6) between the 2 of us - Desert Flower, Koala Milk, Tiger Lily, Tiny Dancer, Early & Often and Verdancy 2.0. They were all delicious but the Tiger Lily and Koala Milk definitely stood out about the rest in terms of uniqueness and taste/presentation. The Tiger Lily tasted like a boozy milk tea yet the flavor tasted a bit more complex than that. It came adorned with a little spoonful of boba pearls which was a nice little touch. The Koala Milk was unreal. It felt like a White Russian’s more sophisticated cousin with its clear ice cube and milky, nutty flavors. You can see the specks of black sesame in drink which looked beautiful. Overall even though we were here around 8-9pm, the ambiance was immaculate and calm. Everyone around us was respectful and quiet so it was a very relaxing experience. Can’t wait to come back if they have a Fall/Winter menu!

A super popular Chinese fusion tea house with unique tea-influenced cocktail options. It gets much busier with sexy ambiance during their S.A.D. ( Steep After Dark) hours.

Parking is gated ($5) and right next to the place.

The staff is friendly and kind.

A great place to hangout with friends šŸ™‚

Don’t miss out their merchandise and events posted on Instagram.

Has potential but vibe clashes abound. Percussion heavy beats and very loud groups just clash with trying to relax and enjoy high quality tea, but that's just me.

Servers seem harried, running around ..... steeping teas. Another vibe clash. Apparently tea ceremonies are no longer happening because there's too much demand. Which means you can't try their best teas, the ones that are for sale.

That's right, their single serve options are lower quality tea than the loose leaf they sell in bulk. So there's no way to try a smaller serving before buying a few ounces. Which, ok, but seems like a missed opportunity.

Like I said. Potential? In spades. But lacks thoughtfulness that one would expect of "tea people".
